FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrical engineering, in particular to conversion equipment, and can be used for voltage regulation in electric networks, and for limitation of short-circuit currents in electric networks. Variable voltage regulator comprises: main transformer; booster transformer; two units of thyristor switches; phase-sensitive unit, made using two measuring transformers, two null elements, logical element "AND"; comparator unit, made using a null element, a logic element "OR", a logic element "AND"; two delay elements; measuring voltage transformer; auxiliary null organ; auxiliary logic element "AND"; logical element "NOT"; logical element "AND"; auxiliary logical element "OR", two pulse shapers; protection unit made using L-circuit, which serves as a single-turn winding of a magnetic conductor with an air gap, a magnetodiode, a variable resistor, a comparator, a voltage divider, a JK trigger, a differentiating circuit, a constant voltage source, a control signal former, an optotriac.
EFFECT: expansion of functional capabilities with simultaneous increase of reliability.
