FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to synthesis of ammonia. Invention relates to a method of utilizing heat of ammonia synthesis reaction based on a low-boiling heat carrier – ammonia. In the heat exchanger-evaporator, the synthesis reaction heat is transferred to the ammonia flow from the gases leaving the reactor with temperature of 440 °C, wherein ammonia is heated under supercritical conditions to 415 °C and 23 MPa, obtained flow is supplied to expansion turbine located on one shaft with electric generator, heat of the flow leaving the turbine with temperature of 185 °C and pressure of 1.72 MPa, is used for heating ammonia in recuperative heat exchanger, going for evaporation to heat exchanger-evaporator, ammonia with pressure of 1.7 MPa from recuperative heat exchanger enters heat exchanger-condenser, where ammonia vapours are condensed, liquid ammonia is collected in a buffer tank, from which ammonia is supplied to the intake of a high-pressure pump, which supplies ammonia with pressure of 23 MPa for heating and evaporation first into a recuperative heat exchanger, then into a heat exchanger-evaporator, the cycle is repeated.
EFFECT: increased energy efficiency of ammonia synthesis process by installation of Rankine cycle on ammonia synthesis heat recovery system using ammonia as working medium.
