FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: method for producing methanol from natural gas, as well as to a plant for its implementation. The proposed method includes drying the original natural gas by freezing out the moisture contained in it, and desulfurization by the adsorption method; obtaining superheated steam from treated water and mixing it with purified natural gas; one-stage conversion of the gas-vapor mixture in the reformer into the converted gas; converted gas cooling, one-stage catalytic conversion of converted gas to methanol in the synthesis reactor, methanol cooling; moreover, the heat of the flue gases of the reformer is used to heat the source natural gas and prepared water, superheat the water vapor and the gas-vapor mixture, and also heat the converted gas before entering the synthesis reactor. Moreover, the installation for implementing the described method is equipped with an absorption water-ammonia refrigeration unit, which provides the preparation of an intermediate low-temperature refrigerant, which is used as antifreeze.

EFFECT: reduction of specific power consumption by 10-12%.
