FIELD: ammunition.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to ammunition, in particular to production of encapsulated cases for small-arms smooth-bore and rifled weapons, and can be used for production of cartridges for said weapons. Encapsulated case for small arms consists of a case with a primer seat with depth "A", having a central hole in the bottom with diameter "d" and two or three through ignition holes arranged along the periphery of the primer seat bottom, and primer pressed into it to depth "H", consisting of metal cap with height "B" with igniting composition of impact action pressed into it, coated with a sealing membrane and having a height of pressing-in of the composition together with the bottom of the cap and the sealing membrane "C", and a metal ball with radius R, which is partially placed inside the central hole in the bottom of the capsule socket of the case, and has a value "A" greater than the sum of the value "B" and the value "H". Bottom of the capsule seat is flat. To ensure simultaneous abutment of the metal ball to the sealing membrane and to the bottom of the primer seat, the value of the diameter of the central hole in the bottom of the capsule seat of the case "d" is calculated by a certain mathematical relationship.

EFFECT: simplified design of encapsulated case, increased strength of case due to flat bottom of capsule seat without annular recess along periphery of capsule seat and creation of encapsulated case design with high reliability of operation and minimum response time.
