FIELD: welding.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to automatic submerged arc welding and can be used in welding of metal structures and reservoirs made from sheet parts from low-carbon structural steel with thickness of 5 mm. One-sided single-pass welding of butt seams of sheets is carried out by automatic method under flux of specified composition using ceramic backings for formation of root bead. Flux is produced by remelting metallurgical slag of electric steel-making enterprise, crushing and binding with liquid glass. Welding is performed under flux layer at certain parameters of heat input: welding speed, current intensity, voltage.
EFFECT: obtaining uniform values of mechanical properties and impact strength of the welded joint at the level of base metal due to stabilization of temperature-speed modes of welding and optimum chemical composition of flux and increase of efficiency of welding process due to speed modes of welding.
