FIELD: electrical engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of electrical engineering, in particular to induction machines with an open magnetic circuit, and can be used for pumping, dosing and mixing of liquid metals and alloys. Inductor of a linear induction machine contains an open magnetic conductor with a multi-section winding, the phases of which are formed by coils placed in different parallel planes. Slots, in which conductors of coils of one phase are arranged, alternate with slots, in which conductors of coils of the other phase are arranged. Sections of different phases alternate in height, besides, each winding section has two layers of coils. Number of slots in inductor, including two extreme half-closed slots with conductors of compensating elements located in them, is determined as , where δ is distance of inductor from liquid metal, m; 2Δ is the inductor slot width, m; m is the number of phases.
