SUBSTANCE: invention relates to equipment for shaking, mixing and separating samples in test tubes during research. Method of controlling a laboratory shaker involves supplying a signal from a controller for switching on/off the supply of alternating current to an electric motor and supplying a signal from the controller to turn on/off the supply to the electric motor of at least one DC pulse to stop the electric motor, wherein duration of at least one DC pulse is proportional to current required for motor acceleration.

EFFECT: reduction of rotor stopping time and smooth rotor stopping without material mixing.
