SUBSTANCE: invention relates to agriculture, in particular to devices for pre-sowing treatment of seeds, having a shell which is difficult to penetrate for water and air. Scarifier comprises a housing, a loading hopper, in the centre of which there is a vertical cylinder, and a rotating working element. Housing has the shape of a cylinder, on the inner surface of the diameter of which there are plates. Diameter of the inner edges of the plates D₁ has a ratio to the diameter of the outer edges D₂ equal to 0.70…0.86. Besides, installation angle of plates β₁ on diameter D₁ is equal to 80…105° and angle β₂ on diameter D₂ is equal to 20…40°.

EFFECT: invention will make it possible to ensure improved distribution of seeds on the scarifying surface, exclusion of impact on the scarifying surface, improved quality and completeness of scarification of seeds without damage to them.
