FIELD: musical instruments.

SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to acoustics, concerns a sounding element of a percussion musical instrument, which can be used, for example, for sound therapy. Sound element is made in the form of rolled metal rectangular plate with through holes made symmetrically relative to axis of symmetry of rectangular plate and located in zones neutral for oscillations, and with angular cuts. Length A of the plate is selected within A=(1.45-3)B, where B is the width of the plate. Plate thickness D is selected within range of 1-30 mm. Distance C between adjacent holes of the plate along the length is selected within the quotient of division A/1.15-2.5. Distance E between adjacent holes of the plate along the width of the plate is selected within the quotient of division B/1.15-2.5. With B/D decreasing to 30 and less, the distance C between the centres of the through holes along the length of the plate tends to the value C=A/1.15, and the distance E between the centres of the through holes along the width of the plate tends to the value E=B/1.15.

EFFECT: wider range of sounding elements of a percussion instrument, wider ranges and accurate tuning of the required sound overtones, the amplitude of the ratio of the fundamental tone and overtones and a longer, dominant sound (sustain) of the fundamental tone relative to overtones.
