FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of extracting butadiene-(methyl)-styrene rubber from latex and can be used in the petrochemical industry. Disclosed is a method of extracting butadiene-(methyl)-styrene rubber from latex by coagulation using a distiller liquid, which represents 13-17 wt.% aqueous solution of calcium chloride and sodium chloride, containing minor impurities, with weight ratio of calcium chloride to sodium chloride equal to (1.8-2.5):1, which is added in amount of 3-5% by sum of calcium and sodium chlorides per weight of rubber in latex, pre-acidified with solution of sulphuric acid with concentration of 0.15-0.25% to pH 3.0-5.0 units. After the coagulant – distiller liquid – is added to the mixing zone, a second portion of the sulphuric acid solution with concentration of 0.9-1.2% is added to pH 2.0-3.0 units.

EFFECT: method enables to obtain rubber of standard quality and homogeneous composition, which meets the requirements of the corresponding GOST and TU for synthetic rubbers, including by such indicators as the weight fraction of soaps of organic acids and the weight fraction of organic acids; increase processability of emulsion butadiene-(methyl)-styrene rubber extraction from latexes; improving environmental friendliness of production of emulsion butadiene-(methyl)-styrene rubber.
