FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in making composite materials for protection against microwave radiation. Method of producing a three-layer radar absorbing coating comprises applying coating on metal or composite surfaces by casting. At that, the first coating layer contains hollow microdispersed filler of magnetite type of spherical shape and epoxy polyester urethane binder, second coating layer – carbonyl iron, microglass spheres, epoxy polyester urethane binder, third layer – microglass spheres and epoxy polyester urethane binder. Components of each layer are preheated, mixed and evacuated to complete cessation of air bubbles release. Then the coating layers are alternately poured into the tooling, intermediate curing of the first and second layers and final polymerisation are performed at temperature of 75-85 °C for 23-25 hours to form a radar absorbing coating with thickness of not more than 10 mm.
EFFECT: invention enables to obtain a radio-absorbing coating with an absorption level of not more than -10 dB in the frequency range from 2 GHz to 14 GHz with possibility of being used in structures which require a constant thickness value.
