FIELD: geology; measuring.
SUBSTANCE: electromagnetic survey method with optimization of the observation system, in which a non-stationary electromagnetic field is excited in the investigated medium using an electromagnetic field source fixed on the observation surface, and a system of meters located on the surface of the earth near and at a distance from the projection of the source, measuring the secondary non-stationary electromagnetic field of eddy currents. At that, maximum spacing D "source-meter" is determined on the basis of spatial distribution of maxima of anomalies from search objects on earth surface using starting geoelectric model of search object, built using a priori geological information, wherein the location of the anomaly peaks of the search object on the earth's surface is determined by simulating in the region of the measured values of the secondary electromagnetic field signals, selecting the "source-receiver" spacing value corresponding to the maxima of the relative anomaly from the search object, from the position of the maxima of the relative anomaly from the search object, determining the size of the aperture for each position of the source and the distance between the sources to obtain an optimized observation system, and based on the results of processing field measurements obtained using said observation system, performing a full three-dimensional reconstruction of the search object.
