FIELD: navigation.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to instrument making, namely to high-precision integrated navigation systems using astro-measurements and is used in on-board equipment of aerospace objects. Method of astro-inertial orientation is based on generation of electric signals from inertial sensors and an electric image signal from a photodetector of a celestial navigator. Before the start of the stellar image detection and recognition procedure, video streams from the optical heads are first formed by indicating the coordinates of the photodetector matrix reading regions, calculated based on the a priori coordinates of the stars covered by the fields of view of the optical heads, and measurements of the angular velocity sensors. Then it is subjected to digital processing using measurements of inertial sensors of angular velocity, as a result of which not complete frames are subtracted from optical heads, but several regions of interest of smaller size.
EFFECT: high accuracy of output parameters of the astro-inertial navigation system and high fault-tolerance.
