FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to neurology, neurosurgery, intensive therapy and resuscitation, medical rehabilitation, and can be used to assess cognitive functions. Patient is given imperative tasks with further evaluation of the quality of their performance in points. Tasks include verbal – response to address by name, verbal commands "open and close eyes", "show or stick out tongue", "smile", and verbal-non-verbal – "clench the hand into a fist", "show the thumb up", "show the victoria sign", "move the toes", "pull the foot back and forth". Points are summed up. Patient’s cognitive functions are assessed in accordance with the derived value.
EFFECT: method provides higher completeness and accuracy of assessing cognitive functions in ICU patients with impossibility of verbal communication by assessing five domains of cognitive functions: executive function, attention, motor skills, orientation and memory.
