SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to medical equipment. Device for retaining air bubbles, located on the fluid path in the fluid injector system, includes a housing, an inner chamber having a concave, a hemispherical inner shell formed in the housing, wherein the inner chamber is at least partially spherical or hemispherical, a fluid inlet in fluid communication with the inner chamber, wherein the fluid inlet channel enters the inner chamber tangentially to the concave, hemispherical inner shell, and the fluid outlet channel in fluid communication with the inner chamber, wherein the fluid outlet channel is spaced from the fluid inlet channel so that the injection fluid flowing into the inner chamber through the fluid inlet channel is directed away from the fluid outlet channel. Inner chamber is configured to create an internal fluid vortex in the injection fluid entering the inner chamber from the fluid inlet channel. Internal vortex of the fluid medium forms a circular vortex flow of the fluid medium along the concave or hemispherical inner shell. Circular vortex flow of fluid medium passes across the hole of outlet channel for fluid medium. Internal fluid medium vortex at least temporarily retains at least one air bubble in the low pressure region in the injection fluid medium in the centre of the circular vortex flow of the fluid medium and delays passage of at least one air bubble to outlet channel. Disclosed is a fluid injector system.

EFFECT: preventing air ingress into the patient's body during the injection procedure.
