FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to computer engineering and specifically to encoding/decoding methods. Method of decoding an image, comprising: determining whether a colour copying mode for a current chroma block of a first colour space in an image, sub-sampling of the luma block, deriving correlation information for the colour copying mode based on the predetermined reference region and predicting the current chroma block by applying the correlation information to the sub-sampled luma block, wherein sub-sampling of the luma unit is performed using the first pixel of the luma unit corresponding to the current pixel of the current chroma unit, and a plurality of neighbouring pixels adjacent to the first pixel, the positions of the plurality of neighbouring pixels are determined based on the chromaticity format of the image, 3and wherein adjacent pixels include at least one of a right neighbouring pixel, a lower neighbouring pixel or a lower right neighbouring pixel.
EFFECT: high efficiency of encoding/decoding an image when performing intra-predictions based on an available reference pixel.
