FIELD: communication technique.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to wireless communication networks and specifically to transmission of uplink control information, such as acknowledgment or negative acknowledgment (ACK/NACK) of a hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ), using a sequence. A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) comprises a processor configured to transmit acknowledgment or negative acknowledgment (ACK/NACK) information of a hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) using a sequence. Processor receives a resource indicator when transmitting over a downlink control channel, based on the resource indicator, which should be used to transmit HARQ ACK/NACK information, wherein the resource includes a symbol in which the HARQ ACK/NACK information is transmitted, based on the resource indicator and the symbol in which the HARQ ACK/NACK information is transmitted, a cyclic shift associated with the sequence, and transmitting HARQ ACK/NACK information using the resource and the sequence shifted by the determined cyclic shift.
EFFECT: providing multiplexing of different categories of UCI and/or reference symbols or reference signals (RS) in the presence of several PUCCH lengths, wherein in the case of RS transmission, interference can be eliminated while increasing user multiplexing capacity.
