SUBSTANCE: invention relates to video encoding/decoding. Result is achieved by the fact that by means of decoding device reference area for intra-prediction of current block in image is determined, wherein the reference area is spatially adjacent to the current unit and includes at least one of an upper reference area, a left reference area, an upper left reference area, a lower left reference area and an upper right reference area, and wherein the determination of the reference area comprises a step of searching for whether there is an inaccessible pixel in the reference area, wherein said search with respect to left reference area is performed from top to bottom, and when an inaccessible pixel is found during said search with respect to the left reference region, the inaccessible pixel is replaced by a pixel above the inaccessible pixel, then the intra-prediction mode of the current block from the selected potentially suitable group is determined based on the MPM information and the current block is predicted based on this determined intra-prediction mode.
EFFECT: high efficiency of video compression.
