FIELD: mechanical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to machine building, particularly, to friction articles with metal carcass, namely, to disc brake pads of cars. Disc brake pad includes flat metal frame made in the form of plate with metal expanded metal mesh fixed on its surface by means of welding, reinforcing composite friction material moulded to it from above. Welded connection of frame and expanded metal mesh is made with preservation of relief surface and cellular structure of expanded metal mesh, in the form of at least three strips with width of not less than 10 mm, uniformly distributed along the whole length of expanded metal mesh.
EFFECT: improved technical characteristics of the brake shoe associated with the reliability of the brake shoe, namely, increased resistance to separation of friction material from the frame and to mechanical loads characteristic of the friction article, which shift the friction material relative to the frame during operation of the article.
