FIELD: automotive industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of mechanical engineering, in particular to friction products containing a metal frame, namely, to the pads of disc brakes of cars. The brake pad of the disc brake consists of a flat metal frame made in the form of a plate with a metal expanded mesh fixed on its surface by means of contact spot welding and a composite friction element molded to it from above, while an adhesive layer is applied to the flat metal frame on top of the expanded mesh, and the direction of the length of the mesh cells is parallel to the length of the frame - longitudinally to the working surface of the pad, the length of the cells is equal to 0.8-1.5% of the thickness of the frame. The places of contact spot welding are evenly distributed on the surface of the expanded mesh and are located at least in two rows.
EFFECT: improvement in the technical characteristics of the brake pad: increased resistance to shear loads, as well as strength due to partial damping and absorption of the shear effect on the friction element and the contact welding sites, increased design reliability and extended service life.
