FIELD: machine building.

SUBSTANCE: friction item includes a metal frame with holes and a friction element moulded onto it and equipped with projections arranged inside the holes. Friction element is made from polymer friction composite material. Hardness of composite material in the projections is higher than that in working part of friction element.

EFFECT: reduction of possible destruction of projections and the item itself under conditions of varying heat loads during operation of friction item; improvement of resistance of projections to impact mechanical actions.
