SUBSTANCE: invention relates to diagnostics of vehicle current collectors. Automated device for measuring wear of current collector contact plates contains a voltage sensor, a PC, two current sensors, an integrator, two signal converters, a scaling amplifier, data storage unit, real-time clock unit, digital protocol transceiver unit, digital protocol connection unit, four voltage converters. PC has an analogue-to-digital converter (ADC) and support for a digital data exchange protocol. First, second and third inputs of the PC perform the function of an analogue-to-digital converter (ADC), and the fourth, sixth, seventh inputs, the first and second outputs of the PC perform the function of a digital data exchange protocol. Device can also contain a display unit for visual display of data on the state of the contact plate of the current collector during operation.

EFFECT: providing systematization and processing of data on wear of contact plates, increased accuracy and prediction of terms of replacement of worn-out contact plates of current collector.
