SUBSTANCE: method of identifying wheels of a vehicle having controls in a tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) is carried out by correlating the identification numbers of the air pressure sensors in the tires, activated when the pressure rises or the wheel is spinning, with the location of the wheels on the vehicle, which result is displayed on the screen of an information system (IS) connected to air pressure sensors in tires by an information line (IL) and allowing the driver to identify the damaged wheel on the IS screen. Procedure for correlating the identification numbers of the tire pressure sensors with the location of the wheel begins with sending a command for initialisation of the TPMS, as a result of which all available data on the identification of the pressure sensors in the wheels on which they are installed are deleted. First wheel or tire with the non-activated first sensor is installed according to the order specified in the firmware of the system, its activation with the recording of data linking the identification number of the first sensor obtained by the IL and the corresponding location of the first wheel of the vehicle, installation of the second and subsequent wheels with non-activated sensors, after which their activation is also performed with recording of similar data.
EFFECT: automation and simplification of procedure of identification number of sensor to specific wheel of vehicle without necessity to use additional device.
