FIELD: vehicle equipment and accessories.
SUBSTANCE: system for preventing wheel theft from a vehicle comprises wheels, which include wireless transceivers configured to periodically transmit identification information associated therewith; and a processor communicatively coupled to the transceivers and configured to: detect the removal of one of the wheels based on information on the signal power from the transceiver of said captured one of the wheels, transmitting identification information of said one of wheels to adjacent vehicles and detecting said one of wheels based on information from transceiver of said one of wheels from one or more adjacent vehicles to detect said one of wheels.
EFFECT: efficient tracking of wheels removed from vehicle.
