FIELD: mechanical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: ball valve with a combined safety system for an explosive environment comprises an inlet and an outlet branch pipes for connection between sections of the pipeline, a spring-loaded thermal shut-off valve with a fusible insert, a ball valve with a manual drive and mechanical protection against accidental opening of the valve, a shut-off valve to prevent leakage of an explosive medium, located in the through hole of the ball valve, an insulating insert between the body of the ball valve and the outlet branch pipe for protection against overflow of electric current between sections of the pipeline, wherein the thermal shutoff valve is arranged in a separate housing and is located between the ball valve and the inlet branch pipe.
EFFECT: invention can be used in process lines with liquid and gaseous explosive media as a multifunctional shutoff device providing for shutting off the pipeline when manually controlled by an operator and pipeline shutdown in automatic mode without participation of people in case of emergencies associated with pipeline rupture and fire, as well as elimination of electric current flow between pipeline sections mounted before and after ball valve.
