FIELD: microwave equipment.

SUBSTANCE: method of making a workpiece of a flexible waveguide includes processing the workpiece, fixing and forming an inner channel on the mandrel, bending the workpiece and welding the edges. Wherein said workpiece is pressed by mandrel into female die with mandrel recess. Size of the recess is calculated so that there is no gap between the workpiece adjacent along the perimeter of the mandrel around its longitudinal axis and the female die. In the matrix, the inner channel of the tubular workpiece is formed with a given geometry by bringing the pressure plates together, while providing a given overlap of the workpiece edges and their tight fit without a gap, along the pre-constructed trajectory along the gap formed by the closed pressure plates, the workpiece edges are laser welded in the inert gas medium, upon completion of welding, tubular workpiece of flexible waveguide is removed from matrix and mandrel.

EFFECT: reduced labour input and increased accuracy of flexible waveguide section workpieces manufacturing.
