FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to laser-arc welding of aluminium-magnesium alloys with Mg content from 2 to 7 %. Proposed method comprises placing laser radiation sources and welding arc torch on one carriage for their synchronous movement. Focal plane of laser beam with spot diameter making 0.2 mm is installed at level of front surface of welded workpiece in position before welding arc torch. Providing contact of consumable electrode of welding arc burner with billet at the same level as focal spot of laser beam and laser welding with speed of carriage displacement from 6.0 to 8.0 m/min with simultaneous action of arc source with consumable electrode and supply of shielding gas from arc burner nozzle to welding area. Laser radiation power is selected from range of 6.0 to 11.0 kW.
EFFECT: result is improvement of operating characteristics of welded joint, minimum number of pores, strength of weld metal not less than 90 % of ultimate strength of base metal.
