FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in chemical industry to produce chlorine. Disclosed is a method of producing compressed wet chlorine and a device for implementing said method. Method involves production of gaseous chlorine by electrolysis, its purification and cooling in a washing column by means of countercurrent contact with a flow of chlorine water. Obtained secondary chlorine is compressed in a liquid ring pump and fed into a separator to obtain liquid in form of chlorine water and compressed wet chlorine. Device includes an electrolytic cell, a chlorine initial flow supply line, a washing column, a chlorine water circulation circuit, a circulation pump, a heat exchanger, a secondary chlorine line, liquid ring pump, separator, product discharge line, chlorine water supply line.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to provide effective cleaning and compression of wet chlorine, to simplify the design of the device and to increase its reliability.
