FIELD: power engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to power engineering, more specifically to renewable energy sources based on solar tower solar thermal power plants implementing a thermodynamic Rankine cycle. Method for operating a solar power plant and a solar power plant are disclosed. Method is based on steam generation for the Rankine thermodynamic cycle unit by means of a solar thermal unit with heliostat mirrors, which reflect solar radiation to the heater, at least part of the field heliostat mirrors is additionally made with possibility of vertical movement, for each of the field heliostat mirrors, generating the mirror heliostat vertical movement coordinates signals so, that mutual shadowing and blocking between adjacent heliostats is eliminated, simultaneously correcting and generating new signals of coordinates of azimuth angle of rotation and zenith angle of rotation of mirror-heliostats for said part of field. Solar power plant comprising a Rankine thermodynamic cycle unit with an electric generator comprises a zenith angle drive, an azimuth angle drive for tracking the Sun, wherein each of the mirror-heliostats is equipped with an external post resting on the foundation, inside which said support post is located and is connected to the external post by a movable joint with the possibility of vertical movement of the mirror-heliostat with the help of an additional drive.
EFFECT: inventions shall exclude problems of shading and blocking of a solar flux between adjacent mirrors-heliostats.
