FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to analytical chemistry and can be used in developing non-invasive methods for diagnosing the state of living systems based on test systems and gas sensors. First, aqueous solutions of (CH3COO)2Cd and Na2S are prepared with concentrations of 0.02-0.08 mol/dm3 and 0.17-0.23 mol/dm3 respectively. Then 10 cm3 of prepared solution of (CH3COO)2Cd, 31 cm3 of distilled water and 9 cm3 of prepared Na2S solution at temperature 18-30 °C is poured in portions into an aqueous solution containing 2-3 wt.% organic polymer and a modifier in amount of 5-20% of the weight of the stabilizing cladding. Distilled water is used to prepare all aqueous solutions. Organic polymer used is chitosan, dextrin or polyvinylpyrrolidone. Modifier used is an acid-base indicator, an organic dye with fluorescent properties or dicyclohexane-18-crown-6. Obtained colloidal solution is centrifuged until the precipitate is separated, which is washed many times in alcohol or acetone.
EFFECT: formed cadmium sulphide quantum dots have a stabilizing shell made from said polymer with said modifiers and exhibit different sorption properties on highly volatile organic analyte vapour.
