FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to polymers obtained from polycyclic olefin monomers, such as hydrocarbon-functionalised norbornenes, as well as to anion-exchange membranes containing said polymers, a method for production thereof, an electrochemical device and a fuel cell containing said membranes. Polymer contains a) one or more first repeating units of formula obtained from a monomer of formula and b) one or more second repeating units of formula obtained from a monomer of formula Polymer is a random copolymer in which a first repeating link is cross-linked with another first repeating link on the same or different polymer chain so that said polymer is characterized by at least two percent of reacted accessible centres of repeating units. Ionic conductivity of the polymer is at least 150 mS/cm at 80 °C.

EFFECT: anion-exchange membranes obtained from said polymers exhibit high conductivity, as well as a combination of better properties, including mechanical properties and long-term stability.
