METHOD FOR SIMULATING ANAESTHETIC ADMINISTRATION DIRECTION IN INFRAORBITAL ANAESTHESIA Russian patent published in 2025 - IPC A61B6/03 A61B6/50 G09B23/28

Abstract RU 2839293 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to dentistry, and can be used in infraorbital anaesthesia. On a sagittal section of the patient’s skull by cone-beam computed tomography in 3Diagnosys program, point A is found as intersection of 3 planes: X – sagittal, Y – axial and Z – coronal, located on the lower edge of the infraorbital opening on the anterior surface of the body of the upper jaw. On a sagittal section from point A along the Z axis down by 10-12 mm, point A1 is obtained on an anterior surface of the upper jaw. From point A1 along axis Y to bone tissue of upper jaw point A2 is marked, parallel to axis Y, distance A1A2 in millimetres is determined and point A2 is estimated as border of needle sticking. Points A, A1 and A2 are connected, and the obtained angle A2AA1 is the point of the desired angle of needle sticking with the carpule anaesthetic. From the base A1A2 of the triangle AA1A2 in the continuation of the side AA1, the triangle is rotated parallel to the axis Y – axial, through 180 degrees and through the obtained conditional vertex A3 of the triangle A3A2A1, the hypotenuse is extended to the alveolar process of the upper jaw and is designated as A4, which is taken as the point of needle insertion.

EFFECT: method enables reducing the risk of injuring the patient’s hard and soft tissues, increasing the safety of infraorbital anaesthesia, eliminating the risk of nerve and blood vessel damage by taking into account the individual anatomical parameters of the patient.
