SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, specifically to neurology, and can be used for diagnosis of atypical facial pain. Cone-beam computed tomography of the facial skeleton is performed, at which diagnostic indicators are determined: the presence or absence of molars, a gonial angle, the presence or absence of compression of the inferior alveolar canal by the mandibular third molar, an absolute facial asymmetry index and a mandibular cortex index. Depending on the analysis results, each indicator is assigned a certain numerical value. A diagnostic coefficient (K) is calculated by developed formula, and if K is 11 or more, atypical facial pain is diagnosed.

EFFECT: method is highly reliable, enables diagnosing atypical facial pain, prescribing the adequate and well-timed treatment by evaluating a set of the most significant parameters.
