SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an electronic device which outputs video data corresponding to the state of the smokeless puffing device, and to a method of its operation. Described electronic device, carried by a user, comprises a data exchange module which communicates with an external device, a display and a processor electrically connected to the data exchange module and the display, wherein the processor can receive data on the case of puffing from an external device through the data exchange module and based on the received data on the case of puffing, output video data containing at least one object corresponding to the case of puffing through the display.
EFFECT: when data on the case of puffing from the external device are not received during the threshold time after establishment of communication, disconnection of communication with the external device is performed, due to which unnecessary power consumption of the electronic device is prevented.
