FIELD: computer engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to computer engineering. Technical result is achieved due to the following stages: for each computing application for each type of processing elements, determining a parameter for the application indicating a portion of the application code that can be processed in parallel by processing elements of said type; determining, using parameters obtained for processing the application by processing elements of at least a first and at least a second type, the degree to which the expected processing time of the application would be changed by varying the number of processing elements of one or more types; and assigning processing elements of at least a first and at least a second type to said one or more computing applications based on a degree determined for each computing application to satisfy a decision time condition or a specific service level agreement for each computing application, wherein resource allocation is dynamically adjusted.
EFFECT: optimizing efficiency of parallel and distributed computing with respect to consumed energy.
