SUBSTANCE: invention relates to agricultural production and can be used in agricultural establishments engaged in selection and seed-growing activities. Method includes manual feeding of head on spring-loaded rotating receiving table (3) with convex surface, fixed on shaft (2) of threshing device and equipped with regulator (5) of compression of spring (4), head static compression between receiving table (3) and clamping cover (6) with retainer (7) installed on threshing apparatus housing (1) above its receiving neck, flattening the head between receiving table (3) and flattening roller (11), rotating at speeds of 70 rpm and 430 rpm, respectively, head threshing by receiving table (3) with deck (10) per cycle consisting of several revolutions of receiving table with head, final threshing of the head with receiving table (3) with a threshing roller equipped with pins of different length, which increases from the middle line along the length of the roller to its side edges per a cycle consisting of at least 4 revolutions of receiving table (3) and automatic ejection of the threshed head at the end of the cycle, with the rotation of the receiving table at speed of 35 rpm and the threshing roller – 320 rpm. At the same time replaceable receiving table and threshing roll are used with the larger radius of curvature of the surface of the receiving table and the length of threshing roll fingers, the more curvature coefficient of the seed surface of the head is.

EFFECT: method makes it possible to perform complete threshing of sunflower heads of different degree of convexity without damaging seeds.
