FIELD: aircraft engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to aircraft engineering, particularly, to aircraft anti-icing systems and can be used for removal and prevention of ice formation on aircraft outer surfaces. Method of aircraft wing leading edge protection against icing consists in using power produced in flameless combustion of fuel in the presence of catalyst applied on catalytic grate secured on protective coat outer wall. As a result of catalytic combustion, thermal energy is released through the outer wall of the protective coating with high heat conductivity, thus preventing formation of ice on the surface of the leading edge of the wing. Method, using a removable protective coating, allows the leading edge of an aircraft wing to be protected from icing without making changes to the wing design.
EFFECT: method can be useful in preparing aircraft for flights in icing zone.
