SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine and can be used to assess functional readiness of the body of children for physical activity. Child performs verbal counting immediately after a normal inhalation or after a deep inhalation. Child monotonously pronounces a series of numbers: "One hundred twenty one, one hundred twenty two…" and so on until the next physiological inhalation or continues volitional counting out loud until the inhalation urge. Duration of pronouncing each number corresponds to 1 second. Then, according to table 2 contained in the description, the level of functional readiness (FR) for physical activity is determined. If 0 points, a low level of FR is determined – rehabilitation physical culture group. If observing 1 point, the average FR level is determined – preparatory physical culture group. If 2 points, a high level of FR is determined – main physical culture group.

EFFECT: method enables assessing the functional readiness of the body of children for physical activity, determining tolerance to static and dynamic loads and identifying a physical culture group.
