SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine and concerns a method of treating lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS). Disclosed is a method for inhibiting deterioration/obstruction of urine flow when determined by failure to provide a urine volume >125 ml in patients, having obstructive symptoms of lower urinary tract emptying (LUTS), selected from a group consisting of tension, interrupted jet and incomplete emptying, which includes: (a) identifying a patient having obstructive symptoms of lower urinary tract emptying (LUTS), selected from a group consisting of tension, interrupted jet and incomplete emptying; and (b) administering inside the prostate of a patient identified in (a) above, a composition containing a therapeutically effective amount of fexapotide triflutate (FT).
EFFECT: method is effective in reducing the inability to urinate in a sufficient volume of urine (>125 ml) 12 months after administration.
