FIELD: electric communication technique.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to software-configurable radio systems which can be used in communication engineering, radar and mobile radio communication systems. Software-defined receiving-transmitting device has a processor, storage connected to the processor, a multichannel receiving-transmitting unit connected to the processor. Device further comprises arrays of antenna elements, beamforming units connected to the arrays of antenna elements and to the multichannel receiving-transmitting unit, and to the processor, wherein the multichannel receiving-transmitting unit comprises ports, each of which is connected to one beamforming unit, and each beamforming unit is also connected to one array of antenna elements, and processor is configured to change beam pattern of arrays of antenna elements.

EFFECT: creation of the program-controlled beam pattern using the disclosed receiving-transmitting device with the possibility of radiated energy concentration and/or attenuation, as well as amplification and/or suppression of received signals for one or more specified directions, amplification of one or more useful signals and/or reduction of interference in one or more specified directions, longer range and reliability of communication and rate of transmitting data using a program-defined shape, carrier frequency, bandwidth, signal-code structures and other signal parameters.
