POLYETHYLENE COMPOSITION AND METHOD FOR PREPARATION THEREOF Russian patent published in 2025 - IPC C08L23/04 C08F4/6592 C08F10/02

Abstract RU 2840073 C1

FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a polyethylene composition which enables to obtain a moulded article selected from a container for storing food products, a container for storing drugs and container caps, and a method of producing a polyethylene composition. Polyethylene composition contains an ethylene homopolymer and an ethylene copolymer and C4-12 alpha-olefin monomer in weight ratio from 99:1 to 99.5:0.5, wherein the polyethylene composition has a melt index measured according to ASTM D 1238, 190 °C, 2.16 kg, from 0.25 to 0.35 g/10 min, molecular weight distribution (Mw/Mn) from 8 to 12, density measured according to ASTM D 1505, 23 °C, from 0.953 g/cm3 to 0.960 g/cm3, and linear structural fraction (ROL), according to Equation 1, 10 % or less: ROL=(A1/A2)×100 [Equation 1], where in Equation 1 ROL denotes the linear structural fraction (%) contained in the polyethylene composition, A1 denotes the ratio (A1,%) of the integral value in the region, where logMW is less than 3, to the integral value along the entire x axis on the GPC curve graph, having on the x axis logMW and on the y axis dw/dlogMw, and A2 denotes relation (A2, %) integral value in the region where logMW is equal to 3 or more and is less than 3.5, to the integral value along the entire x-axis on the graph of the GPC curve having logMW on the x-axis and dw/dlogMw on the y-axis.

EFFECT: providing a polyethylene composition which enables to produce a moulded article having excellent environmental cracking resistance, and improving the characteristics of total volatile organic compounds (TVOC), which can be formed when using a low molecular weight polymer.
