FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to chemical engineering, particularly to a metering device for feeding liquid reagents into a silica sol formation reactor. Proposed dispenser includes a metal tubular body in the form of a disconnected ring with closed ends and a single inner space, branch pipe for supply of liquid reagents into single inner space of housing located on upper part of housing, and at least 4 sprinklers for introducing into the reactor liquid reagents from the single internal space of the housing, located on the lower part of the housing along the central axis of the tubular housing with equal intervals of spacing from each other, wherein the cross-sectional diameter of the two sprinklers closest to the liquid reagent inlet branch pipe is less than the same diameter of the cross-section of all other sprinklers by 1.2-2 times.

EFFECT: use of the device allows the maximum uniform supply of the liquid initial reagent throughout the volume of the reactor, which provides simultaneous onset of nucleation and uniform growth of sol particles in the entire reaction volume and prevents undesirable aggregation of colloidal particles, resulting in formation of stabilized silica sols having a maximally narrow particle size distribution and an average particle size in range of 5 to 20 nm.
