FIELD: ecology.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to environmental safety and can be used for complex treatment of surface and waste water contaminated with oil products. Method is applicable at enterprises of chemical, machine building, oil and gas and automotive industries, as well as for cleaning natural water bodies from oil spills. Method involves absorption of oil products with an adsorbent. Adsorbent consists of bentonite, which is preliminarily dried to state with 5% moisture content, modified with CNTs with a weight ratio of bentonite: CNT = 100: 0.02. Bentonite is granulated with addition of wetting agent with composition - water: CNT = 100:0.04. Then fired for 2 hours at temperature of 550 °C in an inert oxygen-free medium. Further, bentonite is subjected to hydrophobization using DALI Hydrostop hydrophobic impregnation consisting of an aqueous solution of organosilicon compounds and antiseptic additives. Hydrophobization is carried out by washing bentonite granules with distilled water, left to dry under a hood, laid out in a layer with thickness of 0.5–2.0 mm on a mesh with fine cells and poured for 30 minutes with hydrophobic impregnation so that all granules are immersed in the solution. After that, the mesh with bentonite granules is removed from the solution, placed under the hood and left until complete drying of the bentonite granules for 24 hours.

EFFECT: higher efficiency of cleaning.
