FIELD: purification.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to sorbents intended for water purification and collection of oil and oil products due to adsorption and use of a magnetic field. The sorbent can be used to clean the water surface from oil pollution by spraying the powder from aircraft or in any other way, and then collecting oil by special vessels with magnetic devices, followed by regeneration of oil products and reuse of the sorbent. A method is presented for making a powdered magnetic sorbent for collecting oil, which includes preparing a suspension by mixing crushed activated coconut carbon, Fe3O4 ferromagnet and distilled water, mixing the resulting suspension in an ultrasonic mixer, followed by filtration to separate water and obtain a filtrate, processing the obtained filtrate 1- 2% solution of ethylene glycol diperfluoropelargonate in isopropyl alcohol, drying it at room temperature to evaporate the isopropyl alcohol.
EFFECT: invention provides a powdered magnetic sorbent, which exhibits activity in a magnetic field and high buoyancy.
