FIELD: testing.

SUBSTANCE: present solution discloses the principle of operation of a device – a chamber for conducting permeability tests (600, 1000) with respect to permeability of chemicals through materials. Chamber includes upper part of housing (602) with upper cover of chamber (606), having first ventilation hole, and lower part of housing (604) with lower cover of chamber (608), having second ventilation hole. Test sample (612, 1006) is placed in a chamber for permeability testing (600, 1000). Liquid contaminant (610, 1004) is applied to the test sample. After application of contamination on test sample (612, 1006), the gaseous flow is directed through the upper cover of chamber (606) to the lower cover of chamber (608) in a direction perpendicular to the surface of test sample (612, 1006), facilitating the penetration of contaminant (610, 1004) through test sample (612, 1006). Lower cover of chamber (608) is equipped with cavity for storage of sorbent material intended for accumulation of penetrating contaminant in sorbent material.

EFFECT: creation of a device and a method allowing to perform quantitative tests for permeability of pollutants through a protective material simulating environmental conditions, in which air directly affects the contaminated surface and promotes greater penetration of the contaminant.
