FIELD: aviation; chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: characteristics of jet fuel thermal oxidation are evaluated by means of standard test of thermal stability of aviation fuel for turbojet engines. Proposed units comprise test section including coupling and heating tube arranged therein. Furthermore, the plant comprises a pump system which moves a fuel sample through a test section, and wherein the pump system is arranged in a layout with two injectors, which optimizes the flow of fuel through the test section without oscillation. Finally, the apparatus comprises cooling systems for cooling tires and maintaining a proper thermal profile inside the heating tube, wherein cooling systems can be provided which independently control the temperature of each tire.
EFFECT: this test method simulates conditions of thermal stress, which is exposed to jet fuel during operation, and is often carried out by means of laboratory devices known as plants.
