FIELD: mechanics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to belt-driven transmission systems where synchronisation of actuated components is required. The belt drive system consists of a belt, guiding sprocket mounted on engine crankshaft. The engine has several cylinders and driven sprocket. Elastic cord is available in belt body, which goes along longitudinal axis. There is a multiple number of belt teeth on the external surface of belt body. In addition belt teeth are directed crosswise to longitudinal axis. The number of grooves on guiding sprocket exceeds the number of engine cylinders divided by two by a whole number of times. The number of grooves of driven sprocket exceeds the number grooves on guiding sprocket by a whole number of times. The number of belt teeth, contacting surface length and distance between sprocket grooves depend on the number of engine ignition events at one crankshaft revolution. Owing to the above, frequency of belt and pulley gearing is reduced down the level of harmonic engine frequencies.
EFFECT: synchronisation of actuated components.
