FIELD: mechanical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to tribotechnics and machine building, and specifically to substances for producing a multifunctional protective layer on the friction surface of machine and mechanism parts. Composition for forming a multifunctional protective layer on surfaces made from metallic and composite materials is a homogeneous suspension consisting of a gel base and mineral filler. Gel base consists of oil and a thickener. Mineral filler used is kaolinite with size of 0.1-20 mcm and Mohs hardness of 1-1.5.
EFFECT: formation of protective tribotechnical crystalline layer on friction surfaces of parts of mechanisms, having high continuity and homogeneity, reduced number of microcracks on surface, low friction coefficient and increased area of true contact spot, increased wear resistance and corrosion resistance.
