FIELD: metal forming.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metal forming and can be used for production of rod parts with heads with cavities and ledges. Billet with diameter corresponding to the diameter of the head end is cut from the rolled stock. Billet is calibrated according to diameter and processed to form chamfers. Then, simultaneously, cavity is formed, head end is calibrated and volume is dispensed for subsequent stamping by extrusion. External outline of the head is shaped successively along its height. For this purpose, billet metal is collected into the conical cavity of the punch by preliminary upsetting and final shaping of the head by upsetting. Rod of the part is reduced.
EFFECT: reduced metal consumption, increased durability of the tool and improved quality of the produced items.
