FIELD: metal processing.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the cold processing of metals by pressure and can be used in the manufacture of semi-hollow rod parts of a stepped shape. A billet of a measured length is cut off and a semi-hollow part with a head along the transitions is formed of it. At the first transition, a blind cavity is obtained by direct extrusion in a floating matrix. At the second transition, a step-by-step semi-finished product is obtained with crimping of the wall of the blind cavity and its calibration on a mandrel located floating in the deformation center. At the third transition, the final formation of the head is performed simultaneously with the formation of the full profile of the part and the chamfers at the ends in a rigidly fixed matrix using a floating punch, which is pressed with force against the matrix mirror.
EFFECT: increase in the manufacturability and quality of the resulting parts, reduction in the number of forming tools and increase in their durability.
